Learn more Today in Postal History May 14, 1918 William T. Robey buys a sheet of 100 of the new 24-cents airmail stamp. The stamps had an inverted airplane error. He sold the sheet to a Philadelphia stamp dealer for $15,000. The museum has two of these inverted Jenny" stamps in its collections.
